The SSO is the first purchaser of health services throughout the country. The Indirect Health Section of the SSO is a method for medical care of the SSO covered people, according to which, those insureds who have valid medical booklets may benefit from medical and health services of doctors, hospitals and medical centers under contract or not under contract with the SSO in government and private section.
If the insured goes to the medical centers under contract with the SSO, they should only pay the franchise of the medical costs. But, when going to the no contracted centers, they are require to pay the medical costs totally. As well, they should provide the related documentations and papers to the medical documentation offices.
These offices would reimburse the insureds a part of medical costs according to the approved tariff of the Board of Ministers. At present, the SSO is under contract with 840 clinics and polyclinics, 673 hospitals and 28535 physicians and dentists.
